To ensure viability over the long run, MHF seeks substantive donations to the Muskoka Forever Legacy Campaign.  Beyond membership fees, fundraising events and project-specific funding, the Foundation does not have ongoing long term funding.  Our objective is to grow a capital fund whose interest income will sustain the Foundation.

The importance of the Muskoka Forever Campaign cannot be overstated. It is your assurance that Muskoka’s unique environment will be maintained for future generations. The Muskoka Heritage Foundation has assumed a conservationist role since its inception in 1987 and has experienced great success over the years. However, we now need your financial support if we are to continue with this undertaking.

Nature At Its Best

The natural environment is fundamental to the quality of life in Muskoka. Large natural areas significantly contribute to the clean air and water – and support a wide range of flora and fauna. A spectacular backdrop of seemingly endless lakes, rivers, rocks and forests provides the physical beauty and recreational opportunities that have ultimately attracted residents and tourists alike to Muskoka.

Today’s Reality

The fact of the matter is that the Muskoka environment is as sensitive as it is unique. It is particularly vulnerable to the current pressures of population growth, development, fragmentation and climate change. Left unchecked, these pressures will be the ultimate demise of a land that we all know and cherish. More than ever before, the Muskoka Heritage Foundation is being called upon to protect, conserve and nurture the environment and traditions of Muskoka.
