Donation of cash or securities

As a registered charity, the Muskoka Heritage Trust can issue receipts for the value of a donation, which can be used to reduce income taxes. If qualified securities are donated, the capital gain that has accumulated since the donor acquired the securities is not taxable. Please see the CRA website for further information.

American taxpayers

American taxpayers can donate cash or securities to the Muskoka Heritage Trust and receive American charitable tax receipts by donating to the American Friends of Canadian Land Trusts and requesting that the donations be sent to the MHT.

On-line donation

If you would like to donate to the Muskoka Heritage Trust on-line, this is done through the Muskoka Heritage Foundation website. The Muskoka Heritage Foundation assists the Muskoka Heritage Trust by providing staffing and administrative support.

If you would like to support the Trust’s efforts to protect ecologically significant land in Muskoka and surrounding areas, you will have the option of specifying that your donation go towards the Trust. And if you’d like to specify that your donation go towards the Trust’s work in a particular geographic area, you may specify that as well.
