Muskoka Heritage Trust Muskoka Watershed Council

2011 Summer Cottage Tour

Since 1999, the Summer Cottage Tour has been a premier fundraising event for Muskoka Heritage Foundation. Tour guests have visited private cottages on Lakes Joseph, Rosseau and Muskoka, with luncheon venues at historic hotels and lakeside golf clubs. The event raises essential funds to support MHF’s goals.

Early tours were garden tours, visiting private cottage gardens that demonstrated environmental ethics. In 2004, gracious cottage owners opened grounds, cottages and boathouses for tour guests.

Until 2010, guests were transported between cottage sites by a flotilla of classic Muskoka wooden boats. RMS Segwun, the oldest coal-fired steamship operating on inland waters in North America, provided transportation in 2011.

Along with the unique Segwun experience in 2011, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch at Touchstone on Lake Muskoka, a silent auction and exhibits on Designer’s Patio.
