2005-2006
Over the two summers of the project, more than 300 feet of shoreline was transformed. Robert Allen of Northway Gardeners, when asked about the value of the project, said “Part of the Foundation’s mandate is to encourage good stewardship and the example of this restored shoreline shows people that a small change can bring about a significant positive environmental impact. Just by adding the native species, some river rock and good soil, we’ve enhanced the habitat for fish and wildlife, we’ve slowed erosion and we’ve made an aesthetically pleasing addition to the park, a place where people will want to visit”.
