Watershed Council
CURRENT PROJECTS
To
achieve its goals, the Muskoka Watershed Council is undertaking
a number of projects which include:
- Assessing
the health of the watershed by developing a management plan that
includes long-term monitoring.
- Developing
educational programs and materials to promote the importance of
our watershed and good
 stewardship practices for use in schools.
These are designed to foster an appreciation for the natural environment.
- Developing
the "Clean & Green 13" public awareness campaign
which outlines actions that each of us can take to reduce our
impact on our watershed.
- Presenting
to community and school groups to raise awareness of how their
actions affect the watershed.
- Writing articles
for local newspapers to raise awareness and promote best management
practices.
